How can counselling help you?

You may be experiencing emotional difficulties where you are not coping as well as you usually do.  This can be the result of a life event, past or present, such as abuse, bereavement, redundancy, divorce/separation, retirement, or relationship difficulties.

Anxiety, Abuse, Bereavement, self esteem, depression

Your issues may be to do with the present or sometimes more to do with past difficult experiences that may stem from childhood. Counselling can help you look at these issues with increased awareness and new perspectives.

The aim of counselling is to be a supportive safe place where we can explore issues together and ways of addressing them.

I can help you with your difficulties by offering a supportive, friendly and relaxed environment.

My specialist area is working with teenagers and young people on a variety of issues including abuse, anxiety and depression.

How we work together

Our first session will give us an opportunity to get to know one another and explore what you would like help and support with.

I will discuss the therapy contract, confidentiality and find out your hopes of attending therapy.

When you have therapy with me you will experience

  • a confidential safe space

  • honesty

  • respect and understanding

  • non judgemental environment

Through the relationship you can be empowered to understand what's getting in your way and together look at possible solutions or new awareness to move forward.

You may specifically be suffering from anxiety, abuse, bereavement,  depression, stress or relationship issues in which case we can explore together and work on understanding and building on what is necessary to create the changes you need with appropriate support and to accept which you can not change.
